DMK

Skin that functions.

Practitioner applying a DMK enzyme mask at Aesthé

DMK (Danne Montague King) is a paramedical skincare system since 1960 that focuses on restoring healthy skin function, rather than only treating what we see on the surface.

The philosophy is called Remove, Rebuild, Protect, and Maintain. Depending on your skin condition, we use a combination of treatments and active ingredients to help improve concerns such as acne, pigmentation, sensitivity, texture, dehydration, and signs of ageing.

What makes DMK different is that the treatment is customised to your skin condition at the time, so even if you are doing the same DMK Enzyme Therapy, the products and steps we use can be different from one session to another.

Enzyme Therapy.

The tightening. The pulsing. The plasmatic effect.

Enzyme Therapy is DMK's signature treatment. The easiest way to explain it is that it's not just a mask that sits on top of your skin to hydrate or exfoliate.

The treatment uses enzyme-based formulations together with other active ingredients, and as the mask sets, it becomes very firm on the skin. This creates DMK's characteristic tightening and 'pulsing' experience.

The purpose is to support the skin's circulation and oxygenation, help with fluid movement, and support the skin's natural processes, while the rest of the treatment is customized to what we're trying to correct — for example congestion, pigmentation, ageing or barrier issues.

So when we remove the mask, you'll often see that characteristic temporary vascular response on the skin. We call it the 'plasmatic effect' — basically the small red vascular pattern you sometimes see after the treatment.

And then depending on your skin, we can progress the Enzyme Therapy further. Level 1 is more focused on restoring and supporting skin function, while Levels 2 and 3 are more advanced treatments where we intensify the corrective and firming approach.

What makes it so special?

What makes DMK quite different is that we don't just focus on making your skin look good temporarily. We actually look at how your skin is functioning and what your skin really needs.

So instead of just saying, 'you need a hydrating facial' or 'you need a brightening facial,' we look deeper — is your skin dehydrated because the barrier isn't functioning well? Is the acne more related to congestion, inflammation, or oil imbalance?

That's why DMK is very personalized. Even if two people both have acne, they might receive completely different treatments and homecare depending on what's actually happening with their skin.

We also see DMK more as a skin program rather than just a one-off facial. The professional treatments and your homecare work together, and we adjust them as your skin changes and improves.

So the goal isn't only to give you an instant glow. We work on creating healthier, better-functioning skin first — and the glow and improvement in how your skin looks naturally follow.

What are the ingredients of DMK?

DMK actually uses a combination of botanical ingredients and active cosmeceutical ingredients. So you'll find things like antioxidants, vitamins, amino acids, enzymes and different botanical extracts, depending on the product. What makes DMK different isn't necessarily that every ingredient is exclusive to DMK. It's more about how the ingredients are formulated and combined within a treatment system.

So rather than having one hero ingredient that we use for everyone, we choose different products and actives depending on what your skin needs — whether we're working on congestion, pigmentation, barrier function, hydration or ageing.

That’s why I would describe DMK more as a skin treatment system rather than just another skincare product line.

How often should I do a DMK facial?

Usually every 1–2 weeks during the corrective phase, then around every 4–6 weeks for maintenance. But we'll customize the frequency depending on your skin.
